How do I start a free trial of AI Assistant?

1. Check your IDE version

AI Assistant is available in version 2023.3 or later of most JetBrains IDEs. Version 2024.1.1 is required for Community Edition IDEs.

3. Confirm that AI Assistant is up and running in your organization

Make sure AI Assistant is enabled in your organization

If you see the AI Assistant is disabled by your company message, ask your organization admin to enable it. Here are instructions your admins can follow to do so.

Additionally, your organization must accept the JetBrains AI Terms of Service before you can use AI Assistant. If you see the message Your company has not accepted the AI Terms of Service yet, contact your organization's admin and ask them to accept the terms.

If you obtained your IDE license from License Vault, License Server, or IDE Services

If you’re using IDE version 2023.3–2024.2 and your IDE license was obtained from License Vault, License Server, or IDE Services, you can’t start an AI Assistant free trial from your IDE. To try AI Assistant, talk to your employer about requesting a trial for organizations.

With version 2024.2.1 or later, you can start a free trial of AI Assistant, but you will receive a trial license for individual use. If you want to get an organizational trial license, ask your employer to request a trial for organizations.
