Make changes to a personal subscription

These instructions are for personal subscriptions. If you're an organization admin, see Upgrade or downgrade commercial subscriptions.

If you have a personal subscription, you can make the following changes at any time:

If you’re looking to renew or cancel your subscription, see Cancel a personal subscription or Renew a personal subscription.

To make changes to a subscription provided by your organization, please contact your organization admin.

Upgrade a personal subscription

If you’re subscribed to a single IDE or .NET tool, you can upgrade to a bundle that includes it: the All Products Pack for IDEs or dotUltimate for .NET tools. Depending on your product, other upgrade options might be available. For the full list, see Available options to upgrade or downgrade your subscription.

To upgrade your subscription:

  1. Log in to your JetBrains Account.
  2. Find the subscription you want to upgrade.
  3. Click Switch to All Products Pack or Switch to dotUltimate.

You’ll be taken to the checkout page, where you can review the switching price before completing your order.

How upgrades work

When you switch your subscription to a different product, you’ll pay for the full billing period – one year or one month from the switching date. We’ll credit the unused time on your current subscription toward the new one.

At checkout, you’ll see how many days of your new subscription are covered by this credit. You’ll only need to pay for the remainder of the period.

If you have several single-tool subscriptions

If you have multiple single-tool subscriptions covered by the bundle and you upgrade one of them, we’ll automatically turn off auto-renewal for the others. You can keep using them until they expire, but any remaining time won’t be credited to the bundle.

Downgrade a personal subscription

If you have an All Products Pack or dotUltimate subscription, you can downgrade to a single-tool subscription.

To do so:

  1. Log in to your JetBrains Account.
  2. Find the bundle subscription you want to downgrade.
  3. Click Downgrade and select the tool you want to continue using.
  4. In the dialog that pops up, click Confirm.

How downgrades work

When you downgrade, we’ll credit any unused part of your bundle toward your new single-tool subscription.

  • If the credit covers a full billing period, no checkout is needed – your subscription will update instantly. You’ll see the new validity date in your subscription details.
  • If the credit doesn’t cover a full billing period, we’ll take you to the checkout page to pay for the rest. You’ll see how many days are covered by the credit and how many you’ll need to pay for. Once you complete the purchase, your bundle will switch to a single-tool subscription.

Change a personal subscription’s billing period

To change your subscription’s billing period:

  1. Log in to your JetBrains Account.
  2. Find the subscription you want to change.
  3. Click Switch to monthly billing or Switch to annual billing.
  4. In the dialog that pops up, click Confirm.

The change will take effect after your current billing period ends. For example, let’s say your annual subscription is valid for another few months, and you switch to monthly billing. You’ll keep your annual subscription until it expires. After that, you’ll be billed monthly.
