Multi-year subscriptions
By default, an annual subscription is valid for one year from the purchase date.
For some products, you can pay upfront for 2 or 3 years instead, locking in your current price for the full period. Once a multi-year subscription expires, you can renew it for 1 year or make another 2- or 3-year upfront payment.
Benefits
What you get by paying upfront for multiple years:
- Price freeze. Lock in your current price for 2 or 3 years, so future price increases don't affect you.
- Budget certainty. Fixed costs make it easy to plan your software spend well in advance.
- Less renewal overhead. One payment means fewer renewals to track and manage.
Buy multi-year subscriptions
- Go to the JetBrains store, your JetBrains Account, or JetBrains Central Console, depending on where you manage your subscriptions.
- Pick a product, select annual billing, and click Buy or Renew.
- At checkout, open the Subscribe for dropdown and select 1, 2, or 3 years. Each option shows the validity date, and your choice applies to all eligible products in your order.
- Review your total, enter your billing details, and place your order.
Renew subscriptions for multiple years
You can also renew subscriptions for multiple years. Just keep in mind that the renewal start date depends on the period you choose:
- 1 year: Your subscription renews from its expiration date. If you're renewing a subscription pack with different expiration dates, it co-terms to 1 year from the earliest expiration date.
- 2 or 3 years: Your subscription renews from the date of your order. Subscription packs co-term to 2 or 3 years from that date.
Here's how it works in practice. Let’s say your subscription expires January 10, 2027, and you renew on December 15, 2026:
| Renews for | Renews from | Valid until |
| 1 year | Expiration date, January 10, 2027 | January 9, 2028 |
| 2 years | Order date, December 15, 2026 | December 14, 2028 |
| 3 years | Order date, December 15, 2026 | December 14, 2029 |
