Link your paid TeamCity Cloud subscription to an existing instance
This article shows you how to apply a TeamCity Cloud subscription you purchased separately to an existing instance that’s currently on a free or trial license.
The steps below are only available if you purchased your TeamCity Cloud subscription within the last 14 days. If your subscription was purchased more than 14 days ago and you need to link it to an existing instance, please contact sales for assistance.
Link your paid subscription to an existing instance
| 🔒 Permissions required: organization admin. |
- Log in to your JetBrains Account.
- In the menu on the left, click on your organization’s name.
- On the license overview page, select the Team Tools & Services tab.
- Locate your paid TeamCity subscription in the list.
- Next to the subscription, click Link to an existing instance.
- On the linking page, select the instance you want to continue using and click Link subscription. If you don’t see the instance you’re looking for, check out the possible reasons.
- In the confirmation dialog that pops up, click Link subscription.
That’s it! Your paid subscription will be transferred to the selected instance, and you’ll be able to continue using it under your new subscription plan. The trial or free license that was previously associated with this instance will disappear from your Team Tools & Services list.
Linking your subscription to an instance from a different organization
If you set up your free or trial instance for one organization and then purchased a paid subscription for another organization, you can still link the subscription to your instance. However, you’ll need to have admin permissions for both organizations to do so.
If you don’t have admin permissions for the organization to which your trial or free instance belongs, contact the organization’s admin to request them. Otherwise, the instance will not be shown on the linking page.
Once your subscription and instance are linked, the instance will be transferred to the organization that owns the paid subscription. It will no longer appear on the Team Tools & Services page in the original organization’s profile.
If your instance doesn’t appear on the list
There may be two reasons why your instance is not listed on the linking page.
The instance doesn’t belong to your organization
You’ll only be able to see the instances that belong to organizations for which you have admin permissions. If you need to link your subscription to an instance that belongs to a different organization, contact that organization’s admin to request the appropriate permissions.
If you’re not sure to which organization your instance belongs or who its administrator is, you can also contact sales for assistance.
The instance expired more than 30 days ago
You can only link your subscription to instances that are currently active or expired less than 30 days ago. If you want to continue using an older instance, contact sales for assistance.
