How to buy an AI Assistant subscription if your organization provides your IDE license

When your free AI Assistant trial is over, you will need to purchase a subscription to keep using the plugin. If your IDE license is provided by your organization, you have two options:

• Ask your company admin to purchase an organizational JetBrains AI Pro license for you
• Purchase a JetBrains AI Pro license for individual use

We recommend using the first option and securing an organizational license. However, if you decide to get the JetBrains AI Pro license for individual use, follow the steps below.

1. Check corporate policies

Before purchasing the license, make sure that using AI Assistant complies with your company’s policies and is not prohibited by your administrator.

2. Purchase the subscription

When you purchase a JetBrains AI Pro license, you’ll be asked to log in to your JetBrains Account. If you have more than one account, for example, your personal account and a different one connected to your organization, your next steps depend on how your IDE license is activated.

Option 1: If you activate your IDE license via License Server or License Vault

When you purchase the subscription, you can use either your personal JetBrains Account or your organizational one.

• If you use the organizational JetBrains Account, no additional steps are required.
• If you use a personal account when purchasing, you’ll need to link it to your organizational account to use your IDE and AI Assistant licenses together successfully.

We recommend purchasing the subscription using your personal account and linking your two accounts together.

Option 2: If you activate your IDE license via your JetBrains Account

When you purchase the AI Assistant subscription, use the same account to which your organizational IDE license is assigned. Otherwise, you won’t be able to use AI Assistant in the IDE provided by your company.
