AI credits: Unable to use AI features after an IDE subscription expires
Symptoms
AI features cannot be accessed despite having available AI credits.
Environment
- Customer type: Commercial
- Region: All regions
- Product: AI credits
Cause
Under the new AI billing model, a separate AI subscription is no longer required. However, AI credits must be used alongside an active JetBrains IDE subscription.
If the IDE subscription has expired, AI features may become unavailable even when AI credits remain on the account.
Resolution
- Sign in to JetBrains Central Console and verify that an active IDE subscription is available
- If the IDE subscription has expired, renew the existing subscription or purchase a new IDE subscription
- If assistance with the purchase or renewal is required, contact Sales Support and provide:
a. The email address associated with the JetBrains Account
b. The existing IDE license ID, if available
c. The IDE to renew or purchase - Sales Support will assist with purchasing or renewing the required IDE subscription
- Once an active IDE subscription is available, sign in using the JetBrains Account associated with the license to access AI features with existing AI credits
Note: Under the new AI billing model, a separate AI subscription is no longer required. AI credits can be purchased based on usage, but an active IDE subscription is still required.
