Continuity discount: Preserving the discount during subscription changes
Symptoms
Preserving the continuity discount when a subscription cannot be renewed.
Environment
- Customer type: All customers
- Region: All regions
- Product: All paid IDE licenses
Cause
The continuity discount is retained only while the subscription remains eligible under the continuity discount policy.
Resolution
- Contact Sales Support to discuss the available options:
a. If a temporary reduction in subscription cost is required, switch from an annual to a monthly subscription and switch back to an annual subscription at a later date
b. If the subscription has already expired, purchase a backdated renewal within six months of the annual subscription expiration date to restore the continuity discount - If more than six months have passed since the subscription expired, the continuity discount can no longer be restored
- For commercial subscriptions, new licenses purchased on or after January 2, 2025, are not eligible for the continuity discount
